But if you can and it is safe to do so, I highly recommend taking a festive break in the Lake District National park in Cumbria – up in the North. Honestly, the beauty of the place is indescribable and it leaves people awestruck by the natural beauty of the mountains with lakes flowing between the valleys.
It is a 5 or 6-hour drive from London depending on where you live. Although the drive is a long one, there are many services on the way for stopovers. These services are great for stretching for the one who is driving and you can also grab some food and drinks.
